University's real estate strategy moves forward - student views collected through survey

By answering the survey by 30 April, you will help make students’ voices heard in the real estate strategy!

The University of Oulu is currently working on a real estate strategy to plan the efficient and effective use of space for the future of the university. The work aims to gather extensive information on the current and future space needs of the entire university community.

The OYY is also involved in the strategy work. OYY is represented in the working group by Chair of the Board Vilma Sippola and Communications Specialist Liisa Komminaho, whose role is to bring forward students’ perspectives and needs as part of the planning process.

The data collection phase of the strategy work has been ongoing for some time. Information has been gathered in a variety of ways, for example through group interviews and workshops, in which students have also had the opportunity to participate through their own faculties. OYY has also had its own group interviews and workshops with the participation of OYY staff, members of the Board and members of the Student Council. In addition, the real estate strategy has been discussed in the advocacy section on 10 April. We would like to thank everyone for their active participation!

Data collection will continue until the end of April. Now all students have an easy and direct way to contribute and express their views and wishes for the future university by answering the survey sent to all members of the university community.

A link to the survey can be found in the University’s email.
